Since 2009, Britain no longer has a reciprocal health arrangement with the Channel Islands which has meant that UK residents have to pay for health treatment in the Channel Islands.

This has meant that many insurers have reclassified the Channel Islands including Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man as Europe and travel rates have therefore increases.

Many of our policies provide cover for Channel Islands Travel at UK rates.

After recent changes to the reciprocal health arrangement with the UK, medical expenses for UK residents are no longer free in the Channel Islands and via versa for Channel Islands residents.

We can confirm that our Channel Island insurance policy will provide the normal emergency medical expenses cover at no additional cost.

In addition, Holsure annual policies are also available and unlike many other policies do not require pre-booked accommodation for travel between the UK and Channel Islands which allows you to stay with family or friends.

Our policies also cover missed departure for connecting flights in the UK (including informally arranged connecting flights so long as adequate time is allowed) – and as many of you know this is very important when travelling over the foggy channel.
